Reunited and it feels so good!
Sorry about that title. :)
But we have now re-installed the tub onto the chassis. Darrell finally got the engine compartment and door jambs painted. Here's a pic of the tub sitting under the lift:
Decided to hang the tub from the lift and use the lift to lower the tub in place in a controlled manner. This worked real well. I had three other club members come help:
It then took about an hour more of "fettling" the alignment of the holes to attached the tub to the chassis. By then end of two hours total we had all 31 5/16 inch bolts in place with appropriate cork or foam pads between chassis and sheet metal. Here's some more shots after we were done:
So now the balls back in RayVin's court to complete tub install, which will result in a driveable (but not legal) car.
Meantime, we've developed a plan of attack on the seats. Too Tall Tim in Dayton is going to make new seat covers, foam, and wood for the base. We are forced to buy new seat frames based on the sad condition of the prior frames. And he will cover the cockpit trim. Hopefully by April 1 he will have seats and cockpit trim back to us.
