Chassis Progress
Been awful hot, plus travels and medical issues, so progress has been slow. We now have the main floorboards in place. This was preceeded by installing floor metal rails with sheet metal screws: We then had Nick the welder come by and weld them in place, here's a pic after welding and with some paint on the bare metal: We had Nick add a bracket to the battery tray so our small Miata batter won't fall through: Had to do some major wrestling for bolt alignment to install the major floorboards. Had forgotten that the tunnel needs to be in place first, then the inner bolts go through wood floorboard, metal tunnel, and then bracket on car. That process NEVER seems to go well, with lots of misalignment esp on wood boards. But finally got it done. The four smaller boards at the front aren't screwed down yet. Before installing the main boards we also installed the rear brake line and fuel line, both of which nestle inside the track of the outboard floor...
