Chassis and Engine Work

 The floors are now finished:

Hand brake connected, exhaust loosely installed.  Exhaust installation showed the tool box holder Eric put in interferes with the exhaust middle mounting bracket:

So time for modifications!  Not very pretty, but we were able to make changes to the outside portion of these brackets to clear the exhaust yet keep the brackets in place.  Results in tool box holder being titled a little bit:

But it was either modify it or remove it.  This should work fine.

Then we shifted to the engine.  Carbs have been installed and adjusted to good jet alignment.  Put oil in transmission and engine.  Cleaned and adjusted points gap, then set static timing.  Confirmed oil pressure (60 psi) while spinning with starter (no plugs).  Then today was a big day, connected tank fuel line to a gas can, fixed leaks in fuel system, then started it up.  It ran!

After brief run time of about 30 seconds (no cooling system) we shut it down.  Checked valve clearances (all good except #1, way wide, probably was noisy valve in video).  Then checked compression - 145, 150, 150, and 150 front to back.  Perfect.

Tomorrow the sheet metal is all going to the body shop.  We are very close to being ready to drop the tub onto the frame, just need body shop to paint the underhood area first.

Great progress!
